2013 HEADSHOTS

This year I decided to get my headshots done by John Clarke.  He was very professional, quick (time is money) and hospitable.  Myself  I live in a house where the laminate wood is practically floor to ceiling so I instantly fell in love with John's deep pile, deep blue stair carpet and I could have run up and down on it all day... but there was a small matter of photography to be done.  Here are the results.

DO IT; DON'T TALK ABOUT IT!

"There's a lot of shagging going on in the world today, some of it involves rabbits."

I love working with Tony Maresse, he's a do-er and not a talker.  Check out his KILL TV  website, it just re-iterates my point.  He's done load of short films, finding the time on top of being a stand up comic, on top of having a full time job and on top of being a devoted father.

We had fun filming this and have had a lot of positive feedback.  In a nutshell it is 'hilarious and a little close to the bone'.

Fringe Theatre - in a flash!

A two week rehearsal I've not got a problem with, spending those two weeks with under half of the cast I have tremendous issues with.

It's obvious why so many so called actors are 'blacklisted' because of their lack of reliability and as the years go by I am amazed at just how many unreliable people there actually are out there.  Personally, if I say I'm going to do something, I do it.  You probably think I have my priorities wrong but if I say I'll do a small fringe theatre production of Macbeth then that's what I'll do; not drop it like a stone for a one day advert in Costa Del Sol.

I don't let people down and so with my high standards I set of for the first week of rehearsals.  Out of a cast of seventeen only four of us were there every day with the director, in the second week a few more popped up.  Actors dropped out of the production left, right and centre leaving us with little time for replacements. Believe it or believe it not I went on stage, on the opening night with actors I had never spoken to and whose names I was still unaware of.

Unfortunately it did lowered the standard of the production.  Aside from the fact that I as Lady Macduff had a plastic baby and was stabbed with a rubber knife, I actually think most nights saw a bunch of actors speaking there lines.  Harsh comment I know but I'm pretty sure we all could have done much better.  There was not much acting going on and I do include myself in that bracket.

When I was on stage as the Porter I was competing with the actors off stage who were messing about and laughing so loudly that even the audience looked to the wings to see what was going on.  Unprofessional and down right unfair.  You see the odd few that were doing 'ones' job properly and acting there socks off, didn't have the back up they needed.  There needs to be trust, respect and support from the cast; each of us should be able to rely upon the same cue lines, entrances and exits and maybe all of this would have happened if we had worked together for longer and had chance to 'bond'.

The positive?  I made exactly, three, very good friends that I hope to work with again some day.  Because they were the three that were reliable, the three that moved mountains to see out their commitment, that turned up every day and therefore the three that I 'bonded' with.

Headshots for 2012

Sally Cinnamen

"I took Dan t' bathroom, I was most proud to show him my new tongue n' groove bath panelling. The bathroom door slammed behind me and before you knew it Dan had decided he was going t' give me a bit of tongue n' groove!"
Sally Cinnamen is 30 years old, single, likes men and Vodka Red Bull.  This character emerged from a blog I was writing called 'The Diary of a Sex Addict'.  Some of the stories seemed to good to sit in text form in the world wide web so Sally Cinnamen brings them to life.  So far I have performed at Stand up comedy nights and Cabaret Bars but Sally Cinnamen is a character who performs Comic Monologues.  Finding the right venue for her is hard.
Later this month I am enrolled on the London Comedy Course to see if her material or delivery can be altered to suit a 'stand up' routine.  Showcasing on Tuesday 27 March 2012 at 'Up the Creek' LONDON.

Sally Cinnamen

Sally Cinnamen is on FACEBOOK

She's single, she's northern and she's a little zany!  Sally has many a tale to tell; usually regarding her bad luck with members of the opposite sex.  Comical though she is we just can't help feeling for her...
